Blog EntryArt Sunday: Pencil Drawing.May 10, '08 10:51 PM
for everyone

The Theme this week coincides with Mother's Day here in Australia and I am going to share a special pencil drawing from my own collection.

My Drawing 2

The gorgeous drawing above was given to me as a gift many many years ago.

The Mother and her Precious Baby fit the theme today for Mother's Day and the Special bonds formed between a Mother and her child.

You see it abundantly through out nature the bonds surely needed for the survival of the infant and there fore the survival of the species.

The depiction here is of a mother orangutan holding close her baby in the confines of an Asian Zoo.

Her tenderness as she holds her baby is very evident in this pencil drawing done by a very special friend who at the time was learning Art at the local High School as a mature student and also at the same time, caring for her two children as a sole parent.

Jaimee was not able to afford all the necessary equipment that an artist needs, so Her Mother, yes that word Mother came in here, bought her a set of wonderful Art Pencils for her to use for the drawings. I would always admire her drawings and so many of them depicted the Mother and Babies of Nature and now after several years and our friendship muted by time and distance Jaimee's Drawing takes pride of place on my wall.

Below is the drawing up close and the artists talent shown.

My Drawing.

From my guest book this morning I am posting from a Very Dear Yahoo and Cherished Multiply Friend, Marilyn, this poem.

Thank you Marilyn I found your gift of this poem to me truly beautiful.

When God planted his garden.

When God planted his garden,
scattering the seeds from above,
The choicest seed in his packet
Was the flower of Mother-love.
Carefully watched over and tended,
Nurtured by sunshine and shower,
Ever growing sturdy and stronger,
It blooms-a beautiful flower.
A flower so sweet and entrancing,
Dazzling and shining and white,
A love that guards us and guides us
Through life~our beacon light.
A love that steadies our footsteps,
That stretches a helpful hand,
That comforts our sorrows and heartaches,
That always will understand.
Mother-love, God's gift to his children,
With heavenly fragrance fraught;
The brightest flower in God's garden,
His truest forget-me-not.
HAVE A VERY
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Mother's day
every day
24 freekin' 7

After the first there is no return in this life to the days of true romance - only in movies ( and paper rituals )
Sometimes when I look at creatures with their copy/paste children I try to remember that because I can do
sums and make tools does not give me exclusive possession of affection and a sense of achievement in
a job well done. To this extent animals are people to. In fact plants and rocks can have their day in court
also in our nifty philosopy. Happy mother's day Milli (and you also dear peep if it fits the bill)

So beautiful, Milli. That mother orangutan and child is one of the loveliest drawings on the theme of motherhood that I have ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing, I loved the poem too. Happy Mother's Day, here in Portugal it was last Sunday. Hugs.

Dear Milli, You have a wonderful blog here, they are so sweet and touching by your special drawing collection. And I am honored to have you put the poem on your blog (But, I have to tell you that, the poem is not writing by me, it was by one of my 360 friends. It's so wonderful to sharing between our friends). I always remember the wonderful friendships forged in our beginnings in blogging.... I hope our friendship will last forever no matter how far we are apart.

Happy Mother's Day To You my Dear friend. Big Big Hugs from me to you.
